Want to paint animals with me?

You will learn to use a combination of nagomi art and soft pastel art techniques to bring these beautiful creatures to life, right in the comforts of your home. In October, we will paint this preening flamingo!

Though this is NOT a requirement, it is recommended that you
– have some experience in finger painting using soft pastels, and
– be of age 12 and above
in order to benefit the most from this class.

Dates: 22 October 2024 (Tuesday)
Time: 8.00pm to 10.00pm

Mode of lesson: Online (Zoom meeting)
Language: English and Mandarin

Lesson recording will be made available for two months after each session, so do not worry that you are in a different time zone or that you will be missing the session due to other commitments.

Hence we also seek your understanding that the class fee is non-refundable.

Materials needed for this class

As this is an online class, you will need to prepare your own materials.

Items 1 to 7 are the essentials:

  1. Smooth white paper 15cmx15cm (at least 165gsm)
  2. Soft pastel (any brand)
  3. Sieve, penknife or any credit card (to scrape the soft pastel into powder)
  4. Palette to scrape soft pastels onto (any plastic surface will do)
  5. Normal eraser
  6. Art eraser (soft, kneadable type)
  7. Damp cloth to clean your fingers

These are optional, or may be used in only some art works:

  1. Masking tape of 12mm to 15mm in width
  2. Basic stencil
  3. 0.23mm Mono Zero eraser
  4. Charcoal pencil (preferred) or 6B pencil
  5. Pastel colour pencils (preferred) or watercolour pencils
  6. A5 size tracing paper (preferred) or regular paper
  7. Scissors
  8. Small ruler
  9. Cotton bud
  10. Pastel fixative spray

Additionally, do also check that you have Zoom installed on your device.
